"地球周回の2周目の高度を下げることで調整するという。
この地球周回軌道は、遠地点が23万kmと、静止衛星を投入するGTO(静止トランスファ軌道)の3万6,000kmよりもかなり高度のある楕円軌道となる。月までの距離が38万kmであるので、この軌道がどれだけ長いかが分かるが、13号機は2段目の燃焼時間を通常よりも長くすることで、これほどの高度を稼いでいるということだ。"
